DEFENDING premier Old Haileybury was beaten by 92 points by University Blues at Elsternwick Park yesterday and is the only team in the Victorian Amateur Football Association's A-section without a win.

Old Brighton, last year's B-section runner-up, is on top of the A-section ladder after beating highly fancied Old Xaverians by 42 points.

In the Goulburn Valley league, Seymour was belted by 52 points by Shepparton United. Former Gippsland Power star Sam Dawes was best on ground with five goals.

After a week of drama, Euroa returned to the winning list, thumping Kyabram by 67 points, 25.13 (163) to 14.12 (96).

In the Bendigo Football League, two-time premier Gisborne mauled North Ballarat City 29.20 (194) to 1.3 (9) to claim top spot.

Helping Gisborne's bid for a hat-trick of flags is Jye Williams, 18, a son of dual Brownlow medallist Greg.
